Abstract
Human parathyroid hormone (hPTH) has been bacterially expressed in bio reactors as cro-beta-galactosidase-hPTH fusion protein. We have develo ped a large-scale purification scheme that exploits the pH-dependent d ifferential solubility of hPTH and a two-step chromatographic procedur e. We demonstrate that in a number of assay systems, the recombinant m aterial obtained by this procedure is biologically active.
