F. Collin et R. Warnant, APPLICATION OF THE WAVELET TRANSFORM FOR GPS CYCLE SLIP CORRECTION AND COMPARISON WITH KALMAN FILTER, Manuscripta geodaetica, 20(3), 1995, pp. 161-172
In the past, several authors introduced a method based on phase and/or
code combinations of GPS data together with a Kalman filter to solve
the problem of the cycle slips. In this paper, the same philosophy is
used but a comparison of the results obtained with Kalman filtering an
d the wavelet transform is performed. The wavelet transform is a rathe
r new spectral analysis method which is introduced in the second parag
raph. Tile comparison of the two methods is accomplished in several st
eps: first, some data points are removed and jumps are simulated in th
eorical and real signals to test the capability of the wavelet transfo
rm to model the signal i.e. to recover the removed data points and to
compute the value of the jumps. Then, the analysis is performed on rea
l cycle slips. This last study shows that the wavelet transform and th
e Kalman filter are very complementary and give both correct values fo
r the cycle slips.
