We present a study of wave particle interaction in the vicinity of int
erplanetary shocks in the ecliptic plane, as observed by the Ulysses s
pacecraft. We focus here on some events, for which electromagnetic wav
es are observed, mainly down-stream of the shock. The whistler mode wa
ves are studied by means of the Unified RAdio and Plasma wave experime
nt (URAP) and the electron distribution functions are obtained from th
e Ulysses' plasma experiment (SWOOPS). The results are discussed in th
e light of electron-cyclotron instabilities.
