Xk. Kakatsios et Ge. Houzouris, MODIFIED IDEAL-GAS RELATIONS FOR THE DESCRIPTION OF REAL STEAM OBLIQUE SHOCK-WAVES, Archive of applied mechanics, 65(4), 1995, pp. 217-226
Using the best available equations for the thermodynamic properties of
H2O and the oblique shock wave relations which hold in general, the a
ccurate solution for the oblique shock in real steam is obtained, for
numerous stagnation states. The accurate results are approximated by e
xplicit empirical relations which have mathematical forms similar to t
hose of the ideal gas oblique shock, but with new coefficients and exp
onents such as to describe the real steam with a very good approximati
on. [1] The numerous values of these new parameters are illustrated in
diagrams with respect to the stagnation temperature and the stagnatio
n density as a parameter.
