Many information and documentation centers are discussing, how costs f or information can be presented to management and controlling in a use ful way. Problems concerning this field are large, new forms of econom ically viable information systems are being discussed. Since informati on is a resource that is being used strategically, most information an d documentation centers failed with a classical approach. New criteria for the success of information centers need to be defined.
