in the Netherlands has been applied in Costa Rica to assist farmers i
n optimizing farm management. During the past five years the farm comm
unity became acquainted with the computer program in pilot projects in
itiated by the School of Veterinary Medicine of the National Universit
y. Apart from its value in extension work, the program proved to be us
eful for teaching and research purposes and as a basis for decisions b
y policy makers.
