Abstract
The paper considers the possibility of using high-voltage power cable channels for transmission of information in power engineering. It is s hown that the analog information attenuation along the core-sheath pat h for cables of 35 and 110 kV is 1-0.5 dB/km. Attenuation of the sheat h-armour path is 1.5-2 dB/km. When using a binary code, the allowable length of the channel core-sheath for 110 kV cables at an information transmission speed of 100-250 kbaud is 30-5 km. Copyright (C) 1996 Els evier Science Ltd.
