Abstract
A method is proposed for forecasting the onset of asynchronism in a po wer system in order to ensure timely response of protective automation . It is shown that the use of microprocessor elements in an automation system makes it possible by phase-frequency analysis of current chang es to estimate the relative motion of the power system in a multimachi ne asynchronous condition.
