Abstract
The paper is concerned with the theory of elastic materials with voids established by Nunziato and Cowin [1]. First, we derive decay estimat es in a linear isotropic homogeneous elastic non-prismatic cylinder in the framework of the equilibrium theory. Then, we use the method intr oduced by Flavin, Knops and Payne [8] in order to establish energy bou nds for the theory of steady vibrations, as well for the dynamical the ory.
