Abstract
In a case of ulcerative colitis where the clinical features resembled dermatitis herpetiformis, IgA autoantibodies against the itercellular spaces of the epidermis and the basement membrane zone (BMZ), an IgG a utoantibodies against the BMZ were demonstrated by indirect immunofluo rescence study. Dapsone therapy was shown to be very effective on the skin lesions and on the intestinal symptoms, which included bloody sto ols, severe diarrhea and abdominal pain.
