M. Takahashi et al., MAGNETIC EFFECTS IN POLY(PHENYLENEVINYLENE)-PENDANT PHENOXY RADICAL SITES GENERATED PHOTOCHEMICALLY FROM A PHOSPHINE AZIDE PRECURSOR, Chemistry of materials, 9(1), 1997, pp. 11
US'-vis photolysis of the film of a bisaryloxy-phosphineazide derivati
ve of poly(4-oxyphenyl-1,2-phenylenevinylene) generates the phenoxy ra
dicals attached to the pi-conjugated linear backbone. The product poly
radical is in a high-spin ground state with the averaged exchange coup
ling constant (2j) of ca. 50 cm(-1).
