Abstract
A trial carried out in a greenhouse over a two-year period is discusse d. The effects on Cs-137 concentration in plants, roots and soil have been investigated versus the grassland species composition (legume, gr ass and mixture) and eight combinations of mineral fertilizers (NPK). The results indicate: (a) the effect of K fertilizer in reducing Cs-13 7 plant absorption; (b) the effect of N fertilizer in favouring grass growth and radiocaesium absorption; (c) for all fertilizer combination s, a higher Cs-137 storage in the root system of the legumes and a low er Cs-137 absorption in the plants.
