Abstract
The equation y(2)(x) + y(2)(x) = beta + cos x is constructed as part o f a hypothetical problem in classical mechanics. It is solved in close d form. Then the behaviour of the solution curves is studied by method s of elementary quantitive analysis. Computer methods art employed in numerically solving and testing various hypotheses on their behaviour.
