RECENT ADVANCES IN THE TREATMENT OF PSORIASIS

Many important psoriasis therapies were discovered by chance observati on of improvement. During the last decade, the significant ability of cyclosporine to treat psoriasis focused research and subsequent develo pment of therapeutic options on the immunologic arena. New therapies i nvestigated before the cyclosporine revolution are reviewed and includ e new developments in phototherapy, therapy oi psoriasis with drugs cu rrently approved for other diseases, and new drugs developed specifica lly for psoriasis. Cyclosporine and other immune therapies currently i n development are discussed.
