Abstract
The excess molar enthalpies, H-m(E), and the excess molar volumes, V-m (E), of diethyl carbonate + seven n-alkanols have been determined at 2 98.15 K and atmospheric pressure in order to investigate interactions between molecules. Mixtures show an endothermic effect which increases with the increase of the chain length of alkanols. The same positive pattern is observed for V-m(E). The experimental results have been cor related using the Redlich-Kister equation and have been qualitatively discussed.
