Mer. Mchale et al., SOLUBILITY OF ANTHRACENE IN BINARY ALCOHOL PLUS 3-METHOXY-1-BUTANOL SOLVENT MIXTURES, Journal of chemical and engineering data, 42(1), 1997, pp. 54-56
Experimental solubilities are reported for anthracene dissolved in ten
binary mixtures containing 3-methoxy-1-butanol with 1-propanol, 2-pro
panol, 1-butanol, 2-butanol, 1-pentanol, 2-pentanol, 3-methyl-1-butano
l, 4-methyl-2-pentanol, 1-octanol, and 2-ethyl-1-hexanol at 25 degrees
C. Results of these measurements are used to test two mathematical re
presentations based upon the combined nearly ideal binary solvent (NIB
S)/Redlich-Kister equation and modified Wilson model. For the ten syst
ems studied, both equations were found to provide an accurate mathemat
ical representation of the experimental data, with an overall average
absolute deviation between measured and calculated values being 0.4% a
nd 0.5% for the combined NIBS/Redlich-Kister and modified Wilson equat
ions, respectively.
