H. Heuermann et B. Schiek, ERROR CORRECTED IMPEDANCE MEASUREMENTS WITH A NETWORK ANALYZER, IEEE transactions on instrumentation and measurement, 44(2), 1995, pp. 295-299
This paper presents a new class of self-calibration procedures for the
error-correction of network analyzer measurements. The ZU, YU, ZUU, a
nd the YUU self-calibration procedures only need one known and one or
two unknown impedances for the calibration process. The ZY, ZYU, ZZU,
and YYU calibration techniques provide calibration measurements with t
wo impedance standards with known resistances and unknown reactances.
The very good performance of the ZZU impedance calibration procedure i
s demonstrated by experimental results up to 20 GHz. Measurements of s
eries resistors verify this new calibration procedure and the measurem
ents of capacitors connected to ground in two different mounting style
s show the efficiency of the impedance calibration procedures.
