Abstract
The coordinatively saturated iridium(III) hydride HCl(CO){Ph(2)PCH=C(B u(t))N-N=C(Bu(t))CH(2)PPh(2)}] containing an ene-hydrazone backbone is omerises reversibly in a polar solvent to give the reactive and coordi natively unsaturated iridium(I) salt CO){Ph(2)PCH(2)C(Bu(t))=N-N=C(Bu( t))CH(2)PPh(2)]Cl which reacts rapidly with alkenes, acetylenes, dihyd rogen, etc.
