Abstract
Two sets of lanthanide cryptates, kinetically stabilised against decom plexation, are reported; structures in one isomorphous series show eig ht-coordination including one coordinated water, while in the gadolini um cryptate of the second ligand, the coordinated water is replaced by acetate.
