Abstract
We designed and constructed an automatic titrator that uses a personal computer (PC) and commercially available components. The titrator can be used for a wide variety of tasks including pH logging, titrations (including ''salt titrations''), and two-way pH stats. The titrator is programmed using a simple command language that enables it to carry o ut a timed sequence of commands. Examples are given that illustrate th e titrator's use for: conventional acid-base titration using dynamic d ose sizing; the base-acid-base titration of an acid soil; and the auto matic determination of Cd binding by humic acid at a fixed pH.
