Abstract
An experimental investigation has been conducted to study corona disch arge in a narrow tube, Narrow or capillary corona discharge (discharge tube diameter d approximate to 1-20 mm) is used for many industrial a pplications such as flue gas cleaning corona-induced plasma reactors, ion sources, and electrohydrodynamic heat exchangers, Tn this work, co rona discharge characteristics of a narrow coaxial wire-pipe discharge tube with gas how are experimentally investigated, The results show t hat, unlike normal corona discharge, a hysteresis in the corona discha rge current-voltage characteristics was observed for narrow tube disch arges, The on-set of the corona discharge was observed to be significa ntly dependent on the gas temperature and gas flow rates.
