POLYCYCLIC AZINES .15. SYNTHESIS OF HETER OXYCLIC IMMUNOMODULATORS .2. APTOALKYLTHIENO[2,3-D]PYRIMIDINE-2,4(1H,3H)-DIONES - SYNTHESIS AND TEST FOR IMMUNOSTIMULATING ACTIVITY

A series of aptoalkylthieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-diones 3 was p repared and their immune-stimulating activity was examined. The title compounds were obtained conveniently bp hydrolytic ring cleavage of fu sed thiazolo- or 1,3-thiazino-thienopyrimidines 1 under alkaline or ac idic reaction conditions. The ms fragmentation of the thieno[2,3-d]pyr imidine-2,4-diones 3 is discussed. In the delayed type hypersensitivit y (DTH) test some compounds 3 showed immune-stimulating activities in the range of isoprinosine.
