Abstract
We introduce a contraction procedure for obtaining the Jordanian defor mation of SL(2) from its Drinfeld-Jimbo deformation. To be specific, w e obtain SL(h)(2), its differential geometry, and its star product fro m their q-deformed counterparts. We also present a transformation of t he generators of U-q(s1(2)) which, in a limit, yield the generators of U-h(s1(2)).
