Abstract
Marchiafava-Bignami disease (MBD) is a rare complication of chronic al coholism. We describe a regressive form of MBD in which a primary decr ease in CD4(+) cells was improved by amineptine treatment. No signific ant change in the CD4 : CD8 ratio was observed in a few major depresse d subjects receiving this drug.
