HYPOTHESIS - IS CELLULAR HYPERTROPHY IMPORTANT FOR CARCINOGENESIS - (THE CONCEPT OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF MACROSOMY)

On the basis of existing data, it cannot be ruled out that the stimula tion of not only cell proliferation, but also the cell hypertrophy may prove a factor which promotes carcinogenesis both inside the hypertro phic zone and at distant sites, warranting further investigation.
