The formation mechanism of the Q branch excited luminescence polarizat
ion of complex molecules in the vapor phase is considered in massive a
symmetrical top model. The calculated maps are given together with ava
ilable experimental values of the degree of polarization and Q branch
intensities as functions of the relation of the principal inertia mome
nts and of the absorbing and emitting oscillators orientation. The cal
culated and measured values of the degree of polarization are compared
