Abstract
The treatment of a two-dimensional system of three components of isome getic molecules, adapted from statistical thermodynamics, is used to d erive parameters which can be related to the interaction between molec ules at the collapse pressure in mixed spread films at the water/air i nterface. The theory is illustrated by the mixed system of stearic aci d and 1-octadecanol.
