T. Katane et al., FERRORESONANT-TYPE DC POWER-SUPPLY CONTROLLED BY FULLY MAGNETIC TECHNIQUE, Electronics & communications in Japan. Part 1, Communications, 77(3), 1994, pp. 55-62
As a method of compensating for the voltage drop on the de side of fer
roresonant dc stabilized power supplies, a magnetic-only controlled po
wer supply was developed. When a de magnetic field is applied in the d
irection of diameter of a saturable ring core, using the saturation fl
ux density, that is, resonant voltage change, by de load current feedb
ack to an electromagnet positioned in the diametric direction, the res
onant volt;ige is altered and output voltage stabilization is achieved
. By increasing the operation frequency of the power supply, miniaturi
zation is achieved and simultaneously, as a feedback control method, i
s expressed in a block diagram. An investigation was made on the power
supply design method and the response to various disturbances. As a r
esult, design criteria were established to make the steady-state outpu
t voltage error zero. The transient response simulation was verified t
o explain well the experimental result.
