Abstract
The report of the Commission on Graduate Education in Economics addres sed questions related to doctoral programs but did not address termina l masters' degree programs in economics. This article fills this void and addresses the missions and methods of those masters. programs. A s urprising lack of variation in the various programs is found despite d ifferent stated program goals and institutional characteristics.
