The article presents information on the Second Guadalupian Symposium i

n both at the Symposium and the Subcommission meeting were the Standar
d Stratigraphic Scale for the Permian System and, particularly, the pr
oblem of introducing the Guadalupian Series into the scale. The discus
sions resulted in the recommendation to subdivide the Permian System i

nskian, and Kungurian stages, the Guadalupian Series with Roadian, Wor
dian, and Capitanian stages, and the Lopingian Series with Wuchiapingi
an and Changhsingian stages.
