Abstract
Limiter - discriminator integrator (LDI) detection of binary full and partial response continuous-phase modulation (CPM) in a channel charac terised by Rayleigh fading, time and frequency selectivity, is investi gated. An analytical approach able to take into account the presence o f any number of delayed paths in the channel is presented. The narrowb and bandpass filter effects and the role of the post-detection integra tion time and other system parameters are evaluated. The numerical, res ults show that full-response schemes perform better than partial-respo nse modulation formats as regards the error floor due to the Doppler e ffect or the presence of a delayed version of the received signal.
