Abstract
In this study the most important results of previous works on characte rization and hydrodesulfurization (HDS) activity of various zeolites ( NaY, HNaY, HZSM-5 and USY) impregnated with ammonium molybdate or tung state are presented. It was found that the incorporation of Mo or W an d their location in the zeolites induces significant changes in crysta llinity and textural properties of the zeolites, which depend on the z eolite used and the preparation and activation conditions of the catal yst. The initial HDS activity of the acidic zeolites increases general ly with Mo or W incorporation, depending on the metal loading and the location and dispersion of the metal phase on the zeolite. All the cat alysts deactivated markedly working at atmospheric pressure, while at high pressure they were not significantly deactivated.
