Abstract
This paper focusses on the evolution of the heat of hydration of harde ning concrete or cement based materials. Based on isothermal and adiab atic hydration tests a new general hydration model is developed, valid both for portland cement and blast furnace slag cement. This hydratio n model enables the calculation of the heal production rate as a funct ion of the actual temperature and the degree of hydration.
