Eh. Ha et al., MODELING THE REACTIVITY OF ALPHA-KETOGLUTARATE-DEPENDENT NONHEME IRON(II)-CONTAINING ENZYMES, Inorganic chemistry, 34(9), 1995, pp. 2265-2266
An Fe(II) complex of tris(pyrazolyl)borate and benzoylformate was prep
ared and reacted with dioxygen in the presence of olefins. In the caes
of cyclohexene, cyclohexene oxide was produced in 35-40% yield. In th
e case of cis- and trans-stilbene, the former was found to react to gi
ve cis-stilbene oxide in 50-60% yield and a small amount of benzaldehy
de; no trans-oxide was observed. The latter gave no reaction. This sys
tem is proposed as a possible model for reactions of alpha-ketoglutara
te-dependent Fe(II)-containing dioxygenase enzymes. [GRAPHICS]
