Abstract
A simple capillary electrophoretic method was developed for the analys is of a new generation of serotonergic anxiolytics and their related s ubstances: zalospirone, gepirone, ipsapirone and buspirone. All compou nds run in a Tris/phosphate buffer at pH 3 as cations and the experime ntal conditions allowed good resolution of four drugs and their princi pal impurities. The analyses were made rising two different kinds of c apillary. The suitability of CZE and HPLC methods for the analysis of these non-benzodiazepinic anxiolytic agents and their impurities was c ompared.
