Abstract
The neutron and temperature fluctuations of sensors belonging to one s tring in a 1300 Mw pressurized water reactor (PWR) were selected for e valuating the magnitude of the moderator temperature coefficient of re activity (MTC). These fluctuations are less affected by subcooled boil ing. A model describing the temperature fluctuations inside and outsid e the core was developed and the bias of the temperature fluctuations due to position corrected. The resulting MTC magnitude was compared wi th the design-predicted value. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
