Abstract
All the possible systematic and random errors which could introduce di fferential brightness of the optical emissions between the eastern and the western part of the solar corona have been discussed. Since east- west inequalities have already been detected in all the optical emissi ons of the corona, it is necessary to do so before we proceed to addit ional research in the direction of modelling and interpreting this eff ect. The aspect that east-west inequalities are consistent to a real p hysical phenomenon is very attractive but there are several possibilit ies we have to search before we come to the point to accept it.
