A hyperthermic isolated limb perfusion (HILP) via A. femoralis communi
s with cisplatin and melphalan over a period of 6 weeks has caused an
occlusion of the A. iliaca externa, A. femoralis superficialis, and A,
tibialis anterior in the case of a 20-year old female patient with re
current malignant melanoma of the regio calcanea, a chemotoxic infecti
on of the arteries and the adventitia was caused by HILP. As a presupp
osition for reconstructive surgery with transplantation of the muse. l
atissimus dorsi after resection of the recurrent melanoma it was neces
sary to implantate a jump graft as an iliaco-profundal-popliteal-saphe
na bypass. Finally then has been no chance for reconstructive surgery
because of the rapid tumor progress.
