Abstract
Conventional acoustic gas sensors use the isentropic speed of sound to analyze gas mixtures. They work under rough process conditions, but t hey have a low selectivity and can analyze binary gas mixtures only. A n improved method for selection of a new acoustic gas sensor is presen ted here, using not only the isentropic but also the anisentropic spee d of sound in a gas mixture.
