J. Zmija et al., DETERMINATION OF THE NEMATIC LIQUID-CRYSTAL SUBSTRATE INTERACTION POTENTIAL BY MEANS OF EMPIRICAL-METHOD OF SELF-CONSISTENT DIRECTOR FIELD, Molecular crystals and liquid crystals science and technology. Section A, Molecular crystals and liquid crystals, 251, 1994, pp. 243-253
A semi-empirical method is proposed for determination of the nematic l
iquid crystal-substrate interaction potential. Employing results of th
e dielectric constant epsilon and phase shift delta measurements, pres
ented for trans-4'-n-hexyl-cyclo-hexyl-isothiocyanatobenzene (6CHBT) a
nd applying the self-consistent director field method, interaction pot
entials (6CHBT-polyimide) and (6CHBT-lecithin) have been estimated.
