Spontaneous degradation of polypropylene implanted with 50, 100 and 15
0 keV I+ ions to the dose of 1 x 10(15) cm(-2) was examined in the tim
e interval of 0-745 days after the ion implantation. Incorporation of
oxygen during the storage of the implanted samples in air is observed
with saturation being reached within 100 days after the ion implantati
on. The implanted I atoms are found to diffuse slowly from the implant
ation site with a diffusion coefficient of about 4.5 x 10(-20) cm(2) s
ec(-1).
