Abstract
A novel synthesis of quinoline-4(1H)-thiones by thermolysis of enamino thioesters. A novel synthesis producing good yields of quinoline-4(1H) -thiones and involving the flow vacuum pyrolysis of enaminothioesters has been developed. The results are discussed in terms of the intermed iate formation of iminothioketenes; whose electrocyclization leads to the title compounds.
