Abstract
In his Faune de France volume on the errantiate polychaetous annelids, Fauvel (1923) listed only 15 families (not counting the parasitic His triobdellidae and Ichthyotomidae). There are presently 37 families fou nd along the coast of France and it was, therefore, necessary to revis e the key to the families for a compterized systematics software progr am. The program Nereis was developed by Syspertec using the language X (i) Plus.
