Abstract
We describe a case of abscess formation 1.5 years postoperatively in a patient with dropped gallstones from laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Th e entity was initially recognized on computed tomography (CT) and the diagnosis was confirmed with ultrasound. Although this is a rare compl ication of laparoscopic cholecystectomy, it should be recognized as a potential source of abscess formation even in a patient presenting mon ths after the procedure.
