From 1990 to 1993, 351 patients were patch tested with the test series
for anal eczema recommended by the German Contact Dermatitis Research
Group (DKG) in the hospitals belonging to the IVDK. Most frequently,
allergic reactions to cinchocaine-HCl (6.3%), mafenide (2.3%), hexylre
sorcinol (2.0%) and lidocaine-HCl (1.4%) occurred. A reduction of the
test series to these four substances could be considered.
