The regularities of distribution and average chemical composition vari
ations of the Russian platform arenaceous rocks during last 1.65 b.y.
of geological history of sedimentary shell were established. The new d
ata were carried out by joint studies at Vernadsky Institute (Russia,
Moscow) and Geoforschung Zentrum (Germany, Potsdam) in the field of mi
neralogy and chemistry of mentioned rocks. The variations of average c
hemical composition of those are also considered in terms of facial an
d climate conditions of sedimentation an distance from the source of m
aterial at active areas of erosion. It is shown that the Russian plate
and the East European platform as a whole could be considered as not
only Neogeic ''tectonotype'' but ''lithotype'' and ''chemotype'' as we
ll in relation to the majority of ancient platforms especially Lawrasi
an platforms.
