Abstract
A numerical method has been developed for determining the etched track profile and its parameters like diameter and track length for CR-39 t rack detector for low energy alpha particles. The track etch rate is a ssumed to vary along the track and etching is assumed to take place no rmal to the etched surface at any time. The results agree well with th e measurements.
