Abstract
The first question to ask is why a company would want to implement an EMS. For us the answer was easy because being part of Scottish Tanning Industries group, we pursue excellence in everything we do. We consid er care of the environment to be an integral part of our management ph ilosophy, sharing equal billing with health and safety and quality. Ou r eventual objective is to have an integrated management system combin ing all three as the structure and procedures are essentially the same .
