PHOTOCHEMICAL NON-RECIPROCITY BEHAVIOR OF NEW 1,2-NAPHTHOQUINONE-DIAZIDE-2-(4)-SULFONIC-ACID ESTERS

During photolysis the 1,2-naphthoquinone-2-diazide-4- and 5-sulfonic e sters of di- and trihydroxyarenes show different reaction behaviour re sulting in different final products. In a new synthetic concept are di - and trihydroxyesters formed, which contain both, the 1,2-naphthoquin one-4- and -5- structures in one molecule. The synthesis are reported and discussed were the interesting photolytic pathways of such esters. Intrinsic new lithographic properties might be generated using the hi therto actinic compounds.
