Some of the works related to the technique of mechanical alloying perf ormed by the authors' group in the past 7 years are reviewed here unde r four topics: (1) Repeated rolling or pressing v.s. ball-milling; (2) Thermodynamic proof of non-equilibrium state; (3) Functional material s manufacturing; (4) Chaos and mechanical alloying.
